At the library, I’ve always checked out books with Mom’s card.

Today I’m getting my own card, though.

We walk up to the librarian at the counter.

Mom and I walk over to the books.

I take some time to pick out the ones I want to borrow today.

Some are favorite books I’ve read before.

Others are new to me.

I pick out my favorite movie, too.

Then we return to the counter.

I hand my card to the librarian.

She tells me that if I want to, I can also scan things myself.

Next, she scans my things and hands them back to me.
